How to Play – Quess

Quess follows traditional Chess rules but adapts them for a 4-player format, introducing new strategic depth and alliances. Key modifications include:

  • Checkmate Delay Rule: A checkmate is confirmed only after a full turn cycle, allowing other players to intervene.
  • Pawn Movement Update: When a pawn enters an opponent’s home side, its direction of movement shifts from vertical to horizontal, adding new strategic possibilities. Reaching the final row allows for revival or promotion.
  • Flexible Gameplay:The board can be folded for standard 2-player chess.
